New Season of Fred Perry

Soft tailoring takes inspiration from 40s Savile Row. Silhouettes are more relaxed than usual with slightly boxier, looser jackets - a blouson is a key addition - pleated trousers and laid back Bermuda shorts.

Fabrics are stricly 21st Century, drawing on the latest yarn technology.New linen/cotton mixes have a distinctly nostalgic dry handle. Laser cut polka dot cottons mimic the perforated grips of old leather tennis racket handles. Colour-wise degraded blues and greys imitate black – there are no true blacks – and give a tie-dye quality to key pieces. This is particularly evident in trims such as collars and cuffs, which graduate from pale to dark and vice versa.
