Pedro Cabrita Reis exhibition at Hamburger Kunsthalle, Hamburg

Portuguese artist Pedro Cabrita Reis’ work revolves around the themes of housing, habitation, construction and territory. He often creates expansive installations that fill the exhibition spaces with both complex and imposing structures, countering the classic white cube with his use of massive brick walls, found objects and industrial materials such as neon tubes, steel girders or rough wooden planks. His exhibition at the hamburger kunsthalle will be his most comprehensive how to date, featuring sixty sculptures, large-scale pieces, paintings, drawings and photographs completed by the artist between 1985 and 2009.
